Why, oh why, can't people get this right!!!!!!  People seem to muck it up in interview transcriptions - all over the place.

The folks out there need to show a little respect!

RSS feeds are now available for personal blogs and Queenzone.com news.

RSS feeds allow easy access to information through the use of RSS aggregators.  Information on what an RSS feed is can be found here:

http://interglacial.com/rss/about.html

A list of RSS readers, can be found:

http://www.hebig.org/blogs/archives/main/000877.php

If it proves popular i may extend the RSS distibution to other areas of the site, e.g forums.

I am very happy with the way the torrent system here at Queenzone.com is going. There is a lot of sharing going on, which is great.  It is nice to see during the tour!

The tracker is getting busier, with 337 different people currently connected.  I am sure that number will continue to rise in the coming months.

The one issue with "sharing" though, is that some people download what they want and run, without uploading to others.  Generally, the community seems to be pretty good about being fair.  As usual, a few bad apples spoil the bunch. In a few months i want to be able to clamp down on this by enforcing share ratios.  To do this, i need to wait for a dedicated server for the site.

I have directly linked to John S Stuart's discrography posts on the notice board.  John's post make the most amazing reading for any Queen fan.  They totally redefine the term "discography"!

Check it out at: http://www.queenzone.com/queenzone/discography.aspx

I am hoping to have Queen Postcards up and running in the next few weeks.  This will let you send a "Queen Themed" postcard to your friends.

Accidentally deleted half of the user database when I uploaded the new blogging functionality.

I am restoring now from an earlier backup.  Hopefully i haven't lost anyone...

I still need to:

  • Sort out the presentation of the blog_view page.  Seems a bit odd.
  • Let people add their favourite links to the blog.
  • Display the stats counter if people enter the code.
  • Enable RSS feeds for people's blogs.

Long term, i want to allow people to change the look / colour scheme of their pages.  At the least, have templates available.

I have been working on the blog functionality since the beginning of the year.  Unfortunately, a few things came up and i was unable to finish it off.

Well, there is no time like the present, and i decided to try and get it working this weekend.  Quite a few hours later, things seem to be OK.  Still quite a few features to finish, but hopefully most of it is working now.
